God’s Heart for the Lost in Chad

God’s heart is for the lost. In Chad, there are 80 people groups with less than 2% evangelical Christians. These groups live in thousands of villages and towns.

Outreach Has Begun

Our Cru staff friends, Keith and Kay, met with 41 leaders to draft plans to plant a church everywhere in Chad. These 41 people came from 12 denominations and six mission organizations. They conducted three research trips to identify villages without churches near Moulkou in southern Chad.

They organized a campaign with 113 Chadian volunteer missionaries. These volunteers ate seldom, trekked long distances, and slept under challenging conditions. They reached twelve villages and planted seven new churches. Some volunteer missionaries took responsibility for shepherding the initial growth.

1,092 people were exposed to the gospel. Many testified that they were now free from the influence of idols. They had sacrificed often to them despite their poverty. Watch a group of volunteers returning with joy from their outreach: https://bit.ly/JoyInChad.

Oral Church-planting

One of the teams held a training and audio recording workshop on stories in the Toumak language. The 25,000 Toumak are among the least reached by the gospel. Islam, traditional religions, alcoholism, and poverty have strongly influenced them. The workshop trained storytellers as evangelists who proclaim the gospel through Bible stories.

Caleb was trained. He is blind and unable to read or write. This training has transformed his life. To him, his disability no longer prevents him from proclaiming the gospel to those around him. He now has a voice and stories to tell anyone he meets. During the oral evangelistic outreach, many people were touched by the way Caleb told stories.

Thank you for partnering with us (along with our US and International field staff) in equipping Christians to reach the lost in their countries. We know you rejoice with us in the many lives changed by God’s Good News.
