“Having the right view of the glory of God gives us the right view of ourselves.”
– David Robbins, President
Highlights of the Cru25 Conference
At the U.S. National Conference, Cru25, we connected with God as a Cru staff family. Together, we asked God to guide our ministry as we share the gospel with the people of the world. These conferences always feature exceptional speakers and inspiring ministry updates.
Dave and Meg Robbins, our new president of Cru and his wife, spoke several times. We learned more about their heart for God and their vision for the future of Cru. Mike took the photo of them during one of the main sessions in the UW–Milwaukee arena.
We heard from many of our Cru leadership and staff.
The Next Five Years for Cru
Our missionary field staff and others have noticed a revival of faith, particularly in young men. This growth in numbers is even happening in the U.K., which has long been closed to the gospel. In the U.S., 1 in 3 high school students are responding to the gospel. Additionally, God has spoken to our leadership about using the 2026 soccer World Cup as an opportunity to disciple Christians in sharing their faith.
Prayer Requests
We hope to share more about these ministry goals in future letters. Here are some prayer requests for the next five years in Cru.
- The Lord has led Cru to connect people to Christ through the global platform of the 2026 FIFA soccer World Cup. Join us in praying for 100,000 Christians from 10,000 churches to be equipped and mobilized to share their faith through Cru’s Beyond the Cup campaign.
- Cru is opening up new areas of ministry. All our Cru ministries will be reaching out to children in several ways. Cru’s FamilyLife initiated a ministry for mothers of children with disabilities. Many unbelieving women are attracted to these gatherings.
- The JESUS Film will release an animated version in 2026, which should appeal to children, students, and others. Once the animated part is completed, it will be matched to all 2,200+ language translations we currently have for the original JESUS Film.
Other Events and Speakers
4,600 staff attended Cru25 (with 1,300 children in tow). Before the main conference, approximately 600 of us gathered for the Legacy Conference, which was designed for our missionaries over 60 (representing over 26,000 years of service). What a joy to reconnect with friends from around the country, and even the world, celebrating their milestones.
Sus takes advantage of being with all our U.S. staff by offering a writers’ meetup during the conference. Cru staff writers came together for encouragement and advice from one another. Everyone raved about our time together. A younger staff member assisted Sus with the organization. She’s so grateful for Deanne’s administrative skills. Sus will focus on follow-up from the event in August. Throughout the year, she loves helping missionaries succeed through her blogs, eQuipping4eMinistry.com and GodFullyKnown.blog.
Thank you for praying for our time at these conferences. We’re grateful for your financial investment in our ministry throughout the year. Thank you for joining us in God’s kingdom work.
