Josh joined a bowling league recently, so when he was visiting us last week, he took Jenny and some of her friends out for some bowling on Jenny’s eighteenth birthday. We had a great time celebrating Jenny’s graduation. Last weekend, we had a party with Ben and Josh, her grandparents and her Aunt Nancy and Uncle Pat. On this weekend, we had a party with her friends. You can see more photos in our family online photo album. Jenny was on the stage because she was in the top twenty of her graduating class of over 700 students. Jenny’s high school had an early morning graduation in the Amway Arena downtown. Jenny had a wonderful prom experience! A hairdresser friend did her hair as a graduation present. Another friend did her makeup for her. We already found the perfect dress a few years ago that she uses for formal occasions. One of her classmates was her escort and was the perfect gentleman. We have more photos in our family album. This week is Jenny’s last week of classes. Next week will start three weeks of IB testing. The students decided to have a theme for each day this week. Today, for fun, some of the students dressed in the clothes of other cultures outside the U.S. Jenny was thrilled to have a chance to wear her German teacher’s dirndl. After two months of dedicated work, Jenny’s school put on three performances of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This photo of Jenny was taken backstage, ringlets and all. She had a great time re-creating the Cratchit family. The youngest family members were children of some of the teachers. We thought they did an excellent job on set design, costumes, and acting. Ben is moved in to his new apartment this week and ready to start work on his first full-time permanent job on Monday. Ben, Mike and Sus took three days to drive (31 hours round trip) with his car and our van packed with his things. We had most of Tuesday to help him unpack and run some errands. We had barely unloaded the van when one of his “neighbors” dropped by to say “Hello.” It appears, though, that this little guy looks more interested in visiting the kitchen than getting to know the new neighbor from Florida!
