A Colorado Road Trip

We always have one day off during the middle of Campus Crusade’s National Staff Conference. We usually like to get up into the mountains and do some hiking. After walking around Lily Lake, it started to drizzle, so we went for a little drive and discovered a 1920’s Bucyrus-Erie steam shovel in operation at a museum right along the road in Nederland, Colorado. Of course, we had to get out of the car and watch! If you would enjoy captioned photos from our day in the mountains, go to our online photo album. Staff Training 2009

We enjoyed a great National Staff Training conference on the CSU campus in July. We were challenged and blessed during the large sessions. We were also equipped for better ministry through the many seminars that were offered. Sus had the opportunity to help women learn how to reach people through blogging. In this picture she is learning how to use her computer with a projector before leading a computer lab session for about two dozen women. She really enjoyed helping women think about doing more ministry with technology. Continue reading Staff Training 2009

Here are a few examples from his Twitter page: DEALING WITH YOUR SIN: Don’t minimize how many times you’ve failed. But magnify how firmly they’ve been nailed (Col. 2:14). Through the years I sought peace. I found ecstasy, anguish, madness, loneliness. But peace I did not find. Bertrand Russell “I have no business to object to the universe as long as I have nothing to offer myself–and we are all bankrupt.” CS Lewis NOTE: You can … Continue reading Meaningful Tweets

Jenny’s Summer Jobs

Halfway through the summer, Jenny landed two part-time jobs. She sold merchandise at Sea World and also had a desk job at Campus Crusade’s headquarters. One day, as she reported to work at Sea World, she got totally drenched. The wardrobe office gave her a change of uniform and a raincoat. Jenn commented how different her two jobs were. One, where she was on her feet for hours, and the other in an office cubicle. She was glad to finally find work and had fun working in both places. She especially enjoyed working with the ladies in one of Campus … Continue reading Jenny’s Summer Jobs

The Delivery

“Would you like to have this magazine?” I stared at the Awake magazine twenty inches from my face. Startled, I replied, “no way!” I kept walking and reflected on the encounter. I thought some other shoppers probably will take offense at these two women walking the store aisles like they do when going door-to-door in our neighborhoods. Someone later suggested to me that I should complain to the store management. That thought also flitted through my mind as I headed to the grocery section. I decided I really did not want to see a sign on the store window saying: … Continue reading The Delivery
