Ben Earns Award for Superior Federal Service

Yesterday, Ben was presented with an award for superior individual performance over a sustained period of time by the U. S. Patent Office. The award he’s holding reads: “United States Department of Commerce Bronze Medal Award presented to Benjamin R. Schmitt for superior federal service.”

Ben enjoys his work as a patent examiner (specifically for scientific measuring machines). He earned the award because he produced over 110% of his expected caseload over a period of five consecutive years. In the photo, Ben is standing with the  Deputy Director and two of the Commissioners for Patents.

And then, up in his office, he received a big smile from his littlest cheerleader, Adriana.
