Cru Students Help Rebuild in North Carolina
During spring break, Cru provides students with the opportunity to share their faith and serve people in areas of need. This year, 135 students from 15 states gathered in North Carolina for a week of rebuilding efforts.
On September 27, 2024, a category four hurricane caused significant destruction. Many residents are still recovering from the flooding and tornadoes. The students had a significant impact by working on three “hosting centers” for future relief volunteers and repairing 23 homes. They also received training from our staff about living in the power of the Holy Spirit, having daily devotions, and sharing their faith with others.
One student, Katherine, said, “After watching what some of these families have gone through, I realized that if there was a need and I could help, I’d rather share God’s love with those struggling than spend my spring break living for myself.” Her words are a powerful testament to the dedication of our students.
The Value of Cru’s National Conference
We’re heading to Milwaukee for Cru’s U.S. National Staff Conference in July. During the week, we’ll hear many stories of God at work, like this mission to North Carolina. Field ministries will share updates on their latest ministry outreach efforts. Cru leaders and Christian influencers will challenge us in our spiritual walks. This is the first conference for all of us to hear from our new president, David Robbins. The Cru staff family will worship and pray for guidance in sharing the gospel around the world. (Cru has over 16,000 staff members in more than 190 countries as well as digitally in closed countries.)
Sus, Mike, and others will be honored at Heritage Night, where we recognize the legacy of Cru staff members. Sus is celebrating 50 years with Cru and Mike, 45 years. We’ll share more details in another letter.
We value this opportunity for in-person connections with our field staff. Mike enjoys getting to know the people he’s worked with remotely on technical projects. Sus learns about the topics the staff want her to write about on her blog, eQuipping4eMinistry.com.
We’re grateful for your partnership in sharing the gospel with people everywhere and equipping them to share their faith. Your continued contributions are crucial for us to keep making a difference. If God leads you, please donate to our ministry. Thank you for investing in our mission within Cru.
