Our Last High School Graduation

We had a great time celebrating Jenny’s graduation. Last weekend, we had a party with Ben and Josh, her grandparents and her Aunt Nancy and Uncle Pat. Jenny was on the stage because she was in the top twenty of her graduating class of over 700 students. Jenny’s high school had an early morning graduation in the Amway Arena downtown. National Museum – Naval Aviation

We highly recommend the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola. We only spent two hours there. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour which gave us a history of the development of naval aviation. Oak Alley Plantation

We really enjoyed this lovely plantation. We had a simple breakfast in their restaurant mid-morning and then took a slower pace, enjoying the beautiful grounds before taking the house tour. Afterwards, we drove along the Mississippi River to see if we could photograph other plantations. We were able to see three more plantations along route 18. If you want a nice day trip you could photograph even more along The River Road between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Our photos are of Oak Alley, Evergreen, Laura, and St. Joseph. I recommend this stretch of road along the Gulf Coast for a drive, for relaxing on the beach, for wildlife viewing, for photography, or for a quiet getaway. It was a beautiful day and I wished we had a bit more time for taking more photos. We did stop a couple of times for some great shots that we can share with you. We passed a lot of great spots to take pictures, so … Continue reading The Emerald Coast
