Mike and Sus had an opportunity to go to Busch Gardens for a day. We wanted to see their Christmas shows and their decorations. We were not disappointed. We enjoyed a very good Gospel-style Christmas concert and a great ice skating show. Both shows were very well done. For dinner we also recommend the Zambia Smokehouse in Stanleyville. We were able to share a meal because of the portion sizes and the food was delicious! At the end of the day, the lighting was fantastic… a photographer’s delight! After Staff Training, we went to visit our financial partners and friends from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Instead of turning around and re-tracing our route, we continued the drive and went around Lake Michigan. We slowed our pace and stopped to see lighthouses, beaches,and historic sites. This photo is of the Mackinac Light and Bridge. We also went up to Sault Ste. Marie and saw a little bit of Lake Superior and watched a barge and boats go through the locks. We always have one day off during the middle of Campus Crusade’s National Staff Conference. We usually like to get up into the mountains and do some hiking. After walking around Lily Lake, it started to drizzle, so we went for a little drive and discovered a 1920’s Bucyrus-Erie steam shovel in operation at a museum right along the road in Nederland, Colorado.
