Oak Alley Plantation

We really enjoyed this lovely plantation. We had a simple breakfast in their restaurant mid-morning and then took a slower pace, enjoying the beautiful grounds before taking the house tour. Afterwards, we drove along the Mississippi River to see if we could photograph other plantations. We were able to see three more plantations along route 18. If you want a nice day trip you could photograph even more along The River Road between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Our photos are of Oak Alley, Evergreen, Laura, and St. Joseph. Great Road Trips

We have been on some fascinating roads, so I will start sharing about them as I remember them. Just click on Great Road Trips to read about some of the places we recommend for a drive. If I have photos, I will have links in my posts. A really great site I can recommend lists scenic roads for all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. I wish they had more specifics about the roads’ locations, though. Continue reading Great Road Trips

Jenny’s Last Week of Classes

This week is Jenny’s last week of classes. Next week will start three weeks of IB testing. The students decided to have a theme for each day this week. Today, for fun, some of the students dressed in the clothes of other cultures outside the U.S. Jenny was thrilled to have a chance to wear her German teacher’s dirndl. She is posing with friends in outfits from the Philippines, India, and Pakistan. Continue reading Jenny’s Last Week of Classes
