Goodies and the Good News

“I lost two pounds.” Jose is a big man and he was looking right at me when he said this. I was mulling over what to do with this information and later was VERY glad I did not congratulate him. The pipes are in!

We had our house totally re-piped this week. On Saturday, we will have fourteen holes patched, then we can start painting and moving things back. The boys will want to sleep in their room for the Thanksgiving holiday! There IS a bunk bed under all that STUFF! Just about every room has piles of things we had to move out of the way. We expect for this spot to be transformed! We’ll replace this pile with a beautiful Christmas tree on November 25th. Operation Christmas Child

For many years, our family has been making shoe box gifts for Operation Christmas Child of Samaritan’s Purse International Relief. I knew Christian literature was included with our boxes, but did not think too much about the impact of these gifts until this year. I read in Samaritan’s Purse’s literature about last year’s follow-up program. “More than 1.2 million children from 57 nations enrolled in the 10-lesson Bible study course… and over 430,000 have accepted Jesus into their hearts.” I also read about an entire village in the Ukraine coming to Christ and starting a church because of the boxes … Continue reading Operation Christmas Child

The Renaissance Faire

Sus joined Jenny and 90 high school students for a field trip to a local “Renaissance Faire.” We spent the day with Jenny’s friend, Win. All three of us love that time period and had a great day together. We chatted with a few of the “locals,” watched jousting, and practiced archery. A Divine Appointment

“This trail is familiar,” Mike said. We all agreed. Even though we have only taken our kids to the Smokey Mountain National Park three times, each time we ended up taking the exact same trail! We had wanted to explore a new area, but God had a reason for our collective forgetfulness.
