A Tale of Three Cities

In one day, we “started” three kids in three schools in three cities! Jenny was first as she headed off to high school this morning. She is glad to be a junior, but was not happy that summer vacation is over. She is especially looking forward to her higher level IB theater coursework. Ben graduates

Ben graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in physics. He has been hired as a Teacher’s Assistant at Florida State University, where he will pursue a PhD in physics. FSU is also paying for his tuition! All of us are very excited that Ben is starting a career in a field he enjoys. We are also very grateful to the Lord for providing financially for Ben to be able to follow his dream. Cocoa Beach weekend

We enjoyed two days at Cocoa Beach with our friends, Clair and Edie. It was very cold, so we did not swim, but we played football on the beach and watched a rocket launch at sunset. After dinner we went to Brevard Community College to look through their telescope. We saw a nebula and Saturn, too. A flute recital

Our very busy and fun weekend continued with a flute recital for my cousin’s daughter, Erin.  Sus’ Aunt Dolly was also there. If you love great music, the acclaimed Stetson University School of Music has regular concerts.  Use the “search events” on the school calendar under “concerts” to find out what’s scheduled during your time at DeLand.  This recital was in the beautiful Lee Chapel in historic Elizabeth Hall.  Elizabeth Hall is modeled after Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
