“To be a witness does not consist in engaging in propaganda, nor even in stirring people up, but in being a living mystery. It means to live in such a way that one’s life would not make sense if God did not exist.” ~ Cardinal Suhard
I love the idea of being a living mystery to those around me who do not yet know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Can my life be explained apart from a living Christ within me? Do we, as Christians, make Him attractive to others?
Of course, I also still advocate that we must also speak up about, and not just live out, an authentic Gospel to everyone we meet.
“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” ~ Romans 10: 14 – 15 NLT
