A flute recital

Our very busy and fun weekend continued with a flute recital for my cousin’s daughter, Erin.  Sus’ Aunt Dolly was also there. If you love great music, the acclaimed Stetson University School of Music has regular concerts.  Use the “search events” on the school calendar under “concerts” to find out what’s scheduled during your time at DeLand.  This recital was in the beautiful Lee Chapel in historic Elizabeth Hall.  Elizabeth Hall is modeled after Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The next day in St. Augustine

We started our second day with a little birdwatching at a wildlife reserve and then headed into town to enjoy America’s oldest city. On this trip, we toured the Old Saint Augustine Village. We have made several trips to Saint Augustine. You can see selected photos from all the trips at The Schmitt Album, St. Augustine Trips. We want to also recommend, from a previous trip, dinner at the Creekside Dinery. A President, a politician, and a Munchkin

Jenny had a four-day weekend, so we decided to do a little trip up to St. Augustine. First, we stopped at DeLeon Springs State Park. We made pancakes at our table from freshly-milled flour. It’s a fun place for breakfast! Then, we left this rustic setting and headed to St. Augustine for a tour of Flagler College.
