Tim Tebow

You are probably aware of the pre-game uproar about the two Super Bowl ads featuring Tim Tebow, University of Florida’s quarterback, and his mother, Pam. After watching these two commercials, I felt many would enjoy and appreciate them and the naysayers were pre-judging the content. If you have ten minutes, you would probably be very interested in the back-story for the Tebow family at Focus on the Family. Click on The Tebow Story for a video interview with Tim Tebow’s parents as they reveal God’s hand on Tim’s life even before he was conceived. I could not help but think … Continue reading Tim Tebow

On Those Disappointing Days

Yesterday was rough. I was very angry several times for different reasons. I could not find what I needed. Some tasks I had planned to do were not working out. By the evening, I felt like the day was wasted. Today, like most mornings, I started my day journaling and studying the Bible and praying. As I opened my journal, I saw an asterisk next to my last entry for yesterday morning. (Whenever God seems to be speaking loud and clear to me about something, I put an asterisk next to that journal entry.) Yesterday, I had marked a quote … Continue reading On Those Disappointing Days

The Exact Amount

Recently, our friends, Tom and Betsy, wrote us how God directed them to donate toward our ministry. We wanted to share what they wrote because God encouraged us very much through this letter. “Tom and I wanted to share the following with you because we felt it would be a wonderful testimony to how God provides and works through his people. “We have been praying about your situation for quite some time. You can imagine the requests we get for assistance each day . . . Each time Tom and I receive a request we pray about it separately and … Continue reading The Exact Amount

The Eternal Value of Seven Dollars

The early morning air was still cool, just right for a walk… before the scorching Florida sun would discourage me from venturing out later. No one else was out when I spotted three folded green bills lying near the sidewalk. Picking up a soggy seven dollars, I wondered if someone had lost them the night before. I noticed I was exactly halfway between two houses. Did one of these people lose the money or was it someone last night or that morning out for a jog or a walk? It was too early to knock on their doors, so I … Continue reading The Eternal Value of Seven Dollars

Successful Trip to Ohio

Sus had an amazing trip to Ohio to visit donors and she appreciates all your prayers for safe travel. She was able to make the best use of her time by setting appointments before her arrival. She drove all over Ohio from Cincinnati to Xenia to Newark to Wooster to Chardon to Lakewood to Olmsted Township to Amherst and more. She had her first opportunity to see the headquarters for Campus Crusade’s Athletes in Action ministry in Xenia. Sus was aware how God fit every day together perfectly. Almost daily He seemed to say “I am with you.” After … Continue reading Successful Trip to Ohio

Freedom

I felt lighter… and not just because I had just tossed a boxful of unread magazines into the dumpster! For a long time I felt obligated that I must read those magazines. I finally realized it was not going to happen and decided to just toss them out! I definitely had a sense of freedom now that I did not have to find the time in my life or the space in my home for those magazines. Since then, I have donated old educational magazines to schools, which were very glad to get them. (Nursing homes or other places may … Continue reading Freedom
