Jenn’s Mission Trip to New Orleans

Thank you for praying for Jenn’s first mission trip. She and seventeen other Stetson students spent a week in New Orleans helping Habitat for Humanity. I won’t write much because Jenn wrote a beautiful thank you letter to the families that helped fund her trip. Instead of putting her text here, I thought you would enjoy reading the original letter. I couldn’t do it justice so just click here to see the letter. (Use the slider under the left bottom corner of the letter to zoom in if you need to.) The above video is very brief; Jenn has always … Continue reading Jenn’s Mission Trip to New Orleans

Bonnie in Brazil – December 2010

Bonnie is so excited about the mission trip she helped lead to Brazil in December. Her team just presented a recap of the trip at their church in this video. She speaks at the beginning of the video.

Let’s also find out some of the highlights of the trip from a letter Bonnie mailed out:

Our team of eleven set out on Dec 3rd, 2010. There was so much that God had yet to show us, including strength and perseverance in prayer, joy in the midst of chaos, and trust and full reliance on Him for provision, which my team and I experienced all throughout this trip to Brazil! I want to share with you some of my actual journal entries while in country so you can see how God truly shaped this trip! Continue reading “Bonnie in Brazil – December 2010”

Arts Fest 2011

Central Florida’s week of free arts and culture, Arts Fest, began yesterday. We enjoyed going to several events last year.
This year we went online for limited free tickets, as soon as they were available, to attend a concert in the large auditorium at Dr. Joel Hunter’s Northland Church.
The German State Philharmonic was led by conductor Philippe Entremont. For one number, two grand pianos were center stage, surrounded by the orchestra. German pianist Sebastian Knauer performed a duet with Mr Entremont simultaneously conducting and playing the piano.
Our evening out together included dinner at Panera’s, so we made two college students very happy last night even if it meant Mike didn’t get home until after midnight!
Check out the Arts Fest 2011 schedule if you’re in Orlando this week for some fun things to see and do. Continue reading Arts Fest 2011

They just arrived in New Orleans early this morning until the 10th to help with Habitat for Humanity in rebuilding homes devastated by the hurricanes. Thank you for safety for the eighteen students, good health, and the ability to minister to families still struggling. We hope to post pictures and a blog entry when she gets back home. The mission team will be visiting schools and holding events for children in association with Open Arms Brazil. Most of the kids they will be working with come from broken homes or are orphans. The children often get involved in crime, drugs, and prostitution at an … Continue reading Praying for Bonnie in Brazil
