Our Vision

Welcome to Mike and Sus Schmitt’s blog. We are both missionary staff with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ). Mike has been on staff since 1979 and Sus, 1975.

Mike is a Senior Business Systems Analyst for the Digital Products and Services team at the International Headquarters in Orlando.  Mike provides valuable expertise on a team designing software to meet the ever-growing needs for digital tools to help Christians in witnessing to and discipling others.

Sus serves as an eMinistry Media Specialist, assisting Cru staff with technology for ministry. Her main medium to do this is through eQuipping for eMinistry (e4e). a blog to help anyone have more effective ministry through easily-understood technology. (Her name is pronounced like “Sooz,” by the way.)

Besides overseeing e4e and this blog, mikeandsus.org, she posts regularly on her evangelistic blog, The Sovereign, which focuses on living holy lives in light of the return of Jesus Christ.

Endorsements

In November 2013, we received three unsolicited endorsements. These were such an encouragement and a blessing! We’d like you to read them, too, because you’re “our team,” serving right beside us in the work we do as partners in God’s great kingdom work.

Mike has collaborated with Ellis Goldstein, Cru’s Director of Ministry Partner Development, on various projects over twenty-two years. Ellis wrote: “Mike fulfills a role in Cru which is critical to our mission objectives. Most of Cru’s 5000 American missionaries do not know him, but if Mike did not do what he does, it would have a direct affect upon them. In my national role, … I rely upon his technical expertise… His heart is always to serve and to try to ‘make it happen.’ He listens so he understands your needs.” 

Judy Douglass, wife of the president of Campus Crusade for Christ, also wrote: “Sus is one of the most energetic and creative people I know.  Gratefully her creativity is fruitfully directed:  to helping our staff use the internet more effectively.

“Sus has helped me develop my personal blog and to engage our staff worldwide with social media.  I am so thankful.  But so are many others she is helping–leaders, staff moms, our workers around the world.  She pulls together tools and resources, facilitates workshops, teaches one-on-one.  Her contributions enable our staff to be more effective in relating to their ministry partners and in communicating with their primary ministry audience… I could go on, but this gives you a glimpse of the amazing enhancement Sus’s gifts are to our staff.”

And our third endorsement? In response to a gift we offered, one of our financial partners, Brian, wrote: “I understand your wanting to thank your supporters, but it is us who should be thanking you for doing our work for God. I consider your gain part of my gain for glory with God. So, I don’t need anything. I join you in glory for every soul you touch and win for God… It’s my pleasure to help support you.”
