We enjoyed a fun week in Virginia with Ben, Bonnie, and family. It’s always special to be with family at Christmas, of course, AND we wanted to meet out newest Schmitt, little Lily, who was only six weeks old.
We celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas at McLean Bible Church. Luke was in the handbell choir. Watch him, with Bonnie, front-and-center in this little video.
We had memorable Christmas traditions and meals, plus visits with some of Bonnie’s family and with Sus’ cousin, Jennifer and her husband, Stew.

One of Ben and Bonnie’s family traditions is to walk around the huge Christmas lights display at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, Virginia. Be sure to click on our photo album link (at the end of this post) for a few photos. Adriana is young enough that it was like a whole new experience for her. She was de-lighted!
After Christmas, we visited Springfield Town Center for a ride on the mall’s trackless train.
In-between times were spent with our sweet grandkids.

After a week, we needed to head back home because Brian and Jenn were going to spend part of the next week with us. Sorry we forgot to take photos of Brian and Jenn, but to see all the photos from our visit to D.C., check out this Christmas photo album.
