Why Are We Still Serving for 47 Years?

Many years ago, we began our involvement with Campus Crusade for Christ (now known as Cru in the United States). We were college students: Mike at Penn State and Sus at Arizona State.

After graduation, we dedicated our lives to serving as full-time missionaries with Cru. We’ve been at Cru’s headquarters since 1975 and 1979. We moved with Cru from southern California to Orlando in 1991. Lord willing, we’re planning to be here for many more years.

Our God Abundantly Supplies

Why are we still serving as behind-the-scenes missionaries? First, God called us to our work and continues to open doors for us. Mike was recently asked to help a younger team member learn business analysis. Sus receives grateful emails for every post on eQuipping for eMinistry (her blog to help Cru missionaries with tech skills needed for ministry).

God generously supplies our needs so that we may follow His calling. God has made “every grace overflow to us, so that in every way, always having everything we need, we may excel in every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).

The Blessings of Giving

Second, God has blessed us with your prayers and financial partnership. Many of you have stood with us in prayer and helped us serve our Lord for the long haul. Thank you so much! We know you’ve received God’s blessings, too, through your giving. God makes this clear in many Scripture passages.

Jesus said, “give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).

Paul continues with that thought, adding: “You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us” (2 Cor. 9:10-11).

How has your faith in God grown as you’ve trusted him in your giving to our ministry? We’d love to know.

Our Journey Together

God receives all the praise for His ample provision. Together, we’ve seen God wonderfully supply and shower His grace upon us. It’s an honor and a privilege to travel the road God has marked out for us with you. Thank you!
