Recently the “Schmitt’s Family News” (SFN) caught up with a very busy Mike to find out about an important computer project he has been working on for a number of months. SFN: Your project involves a special web site, the Giving site, which thousands of donors use to donate to Campus Crusade for Christ’s staff and ministries. Mike: That’s right! National Staff Training Conference

We are always challenged when we attend Campus Crusade’s National U. S. Staff Conference. This photo is of our president, Dr. Steve Douglass, delivering a very good message on “How to Finish Strong.” Our main speakers were Chip Ingram of Living on the Edge and Dr. Joel Hunter, who looks strikingly like President George W. Bush. Creativity was highlighted several times at this year’s conference. We saw cutting-edge evangelistic short films, produced by upcoming new filmmakers, which appeal to today’s media-oriented students. 1,000 Translations of the “Jesus” film

Campus Crusade has reached a remarkable milestone with the release of the 1,000th translation of the “Jesus” film. Of course, the Jesus Film Project will continue translating with the goal of another 500 translations. This would make the film available to every language with at least 100,000 speakers. Updated: VA Tech tragedy and CCC

I am updating the information of the original April 19th post: If you are interested in staying current on what is happening at Virginia Tech, go to the VA Tech CCC site You can also find a call to prayer on the site that you may wish to respond to. Five of our CCC students were directly affected. (Of course, ALL students at VT are affected.) Three students involved with Campus Crusade were murdered and two were witnesses to the tragedy, but uninjured. André Kole

You may remember that two years ago, our church hosted a performance of Andre Kolé. He returned for two nights on the second and third of March. Several of our neighbors went two years ago and three indicated decisions for Christ. André, a long-time staff member of Campus Crusade, has performed for millions of people in 79 countries. Over the decades, thousands have indicated decisions for Christ through André Kole’s illusions and the Gospel message he includes in his show. 1,465 Indicate a Decision to Trust Christ During Super Bowl Outreach

On February 2, Campus Crusade for Christ’s Atheletes in Action ministry placed a full-page ad in USA Today’s Super Bowl section (and in other major papers) The ad pointed readers to the web site, http://www.BeyondTheUltimate.org which features articles and videos from players and coaches who talk about their faith in Jesus Christ. Three weeks later, the site had totaled 267,062 unique visits with 1,465 indicating decisions for Christ! BeyondTheUltimate.org will be redesigned to feature athletes and coaches for major sporting events such as March Madness, the Olympics, and the World Series.
