God Answers Prayers for Albania

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap,

if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

God Answers Prayers for Albania

In 1967, Albania (under communist domination) became the first atheist country in the world. The officials lifted the ban on religious observance in December 1990. Sara, an Albanian, joined Campus Crusade for Christ missionary staff in 1996. The following is her story.

When Sara didn’t find students to talk to In those early years, she prayed on campus. She asked God for long-lasting fruit and to raise up influential Christians who would impact Albania. Soon, God blessed Sara with 46 young ladies to disciple. Most of them were new believers. Emina was one of them.

After graduating, Emina married a pastor. Sara didn’t see her from 2011 until August 2021, when she visited Emina’s hometown. The church has a significant role in the only Christian university in Albania. (You’ll see part of the campus in the lower left of the photo.) High-profile politicians have opened doors for Emina and the church to invest in the youth of the city.

Sara couldn’t hold in her joy when she learned how God had answered her prayers. She thought of Galatians 6:9 (see above). Emina was also very encouraged as Sara told her about her prayers of 25 years ago.

We hope you’ve rejoiced with us in the many stories, like Sara’s, about what God has done over the years. Your prayers and financial investment in our ministry help us provide technical support for all our missionaries. Whether during a pandemic or under communist rule, we know God is in control. He is moving in significant ways in people’s lives. He’s given us the opportunity and privilege, along with you, to be part of what He is doing. OUR ministry is YOUR ministry.
