Baby Owls

Nesting Owlets in Florida

It had been TOO long since I ‘d gone birding, so today my neighbor, Sheila, and I had a wonderful morning together, even though it was very chilly. We knew where to go today and were not disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing these baby Horned Owls huddled together against the wind. The couple who own the property have a webcam hooked up to their TV and invited us in to see the owlets.

We also drove down Joe Overstreet Road near Kenansville and saw Bald Eagle, Tri-colored Heron, and more, but we were looking for Whooping Cranes. We found them after turning north on Canoe Creek Road. I don’t have a photo because they were on the far end of a pasture mixed in with Brahman cattle on a ranch.
