“Do you not know that the runners in a stadium all race, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Now everyone who competes exercises self-control in everything. However, they do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.”
~ I Corinthians 9: 22 – 25 HCSB
Athletes in Action (AIA), Campus Crusade’s primary ministry to college and professional athletes, has sent our AIA staff, from over 35 countries, to the Olympics in London. AIA staff will have direct access to the athletes as chaplains in the village, advisors, counselors, coaches, trainers, and more.
Athletes have a platform to reach thousands, or even millions, of people with the Gospel. AIA wants to encourage Christian athletes to use any opportunity to point people to God.
The Delegates’ Objectives
- Share Christ with the athletes of every team of every sport participating in the London Olympics.
- Identify and network with Christian athletes from around the world.
- Train Christian professional and elite athletes to use their sports platform to share Christ with fellow athletes and the general public.
- Provide outreach and relationship building events for athletes and officials.
- Provide ministry skills training and certification for new Global Sports Chaplains to serve professional and elite athletes.
How You Can Participate, Too
- Share athletes’ personal stories with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
- Pray each day through these requests provided by Athletes in Action.
