Apple-picking in Virginia

Patrick apple pickI’m wrapping up my visit to Ben and Bonnie’s in D. C. to help with our little grandsons. We’ve had a great two weeks together, mostly keeping up with laundry and such for two babies; however, we did manage some fun outings.

We checked out Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge, which was established to help protect Bald Eagles. We only saw a few Great Egrets this time, but maybe we’ll have another chance to go back on another trip.

We also went apple-picking one day at Stribling Orchard in Markham, Virginia (see Facebook photos here). Yum!

NOTE:  I’ll be adding photos to my Facebook album, A Look at Luke, if you’d like to see more of the newest little Schmitt. I still add photos to Pix of Patrick, too.
