Taking a Risk

“I’ve seen far too many Christians who are more than willing to travel halfway around the world to volunteer for a week in an orphanage, but cannot bring themselves to take the personal risk of sharing Jesus with the co-worker who sits day after day in the cubicle right next to them.” ~ Lee Strobel

Does fear hold you back from sharing your faith? I just read an excellent and insightful blog post that explains our fear in a new way, which should help us understand what is going on when we “hold back” from sharing with others.

This fear is largely unfounded for those of us in America. We don’t have to face torture and death for our faith.

So, please choose to trust God and to ignore the fear. Start witnessing today. In faith, just ask God to make your heart available. I’ve found witnessing to be fun, adventurous, and a great joy. Love the lost. Take in the blessing God has for you. As you take first steps, He will be delighted to bring you and a needy person together. (See this story, for an example.)
