We were able to take two weeks to go up to D.C. last month to help with our brand-new grandbaby, Adriana.
I’ll keep this post short so you can click on over to see a slideshow of us, our grandkids, and some of our adventures exploring Fairfax County.
Some Fairfax County Parks
If you’d also like some ideas of what to do in Fairfax county near D.C. We had some fun outings:
- Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, Virginia, is a great county park with camping, trails, marina, small train, carousel, and miniature golf. We took the family on a train ride and played on the playground.
- We spent a lovely afternoon at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, a northern Virginia regional park. We enjoyed the flowers, trails, and ponds as well as a little birding. One new portion of the gardens is the Korean Bell Garden with a pavilion, statues, and bells.
The boys were fascinated by the big bell.
