We were able to take two weeks to go up to D.C. last month to help with our brand-new grandbaby, Adriana.

Some Fairfax County Parks

If you’d also like some ideas of what to do in Fairfax county near D.C. We had some fun outings:

• Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, Virginia, is a great county park with camping, trails, marina, small train, carousel, and miniature golf. We took the family on a train ride and played on the playground.
• We spent a lovely afternoon at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, a northern Virginia regional park. We enjoyed the flowers, trails, and ponds as well as a little birding.  One new portion of the gardens is the Korean Bell Garden with a pavilion, statues, and bells.

The boys were fascinated by the big bell.
